My favorite social project I worked on during my time with the Royals was this post for World Mental Health Day. I came up with the idea of hiding a bunch of positive messages in different graphics so the text wouldn’t be visible until you clicked on them. I also wrote all the messages and it was so rewarding to see my words actually helping people and making an impact in the comments/ quote tweets.

One of my responsibilities with the Royals was covering home games on Instagram Stories. We utilized Slate to take the stories to the next level and create cohesive branding. Here are a few of the story panels I created during the 2020 MLB season:
fan appreciation week
The main challenge I faced when planning the Royals 2020 Fan Appreciation Week was that all the giveaways had to be virtual. We didn’t have the option to do any in-person activations so I was tasked with brainstorming fresh ways to encourage participation on social.
sponsored content
Sports teams faced many obstacles in 2020, one of which was ensuring their sponsors were given the exposure they paid for, despite the team not being able to play. As a part of the Royals social department, I was assigned the duty of ideating sponsored “quarantine content” and working closely with the creative department to see these ideas to fruition. The posts served a dual purpose of integrating sponsors as well as spark fan interaction. Here are a few examples:
